The Effect of Motor Image on the Upper Extremity Function Recovery in Stroke Patients

Abstract
Objective : This study identified to find out about the effect that the exercise image, as a treatment for cerebral stroke patients, has on the recovery of the upper limb function of the patient who has cerebral stroke which is accompanied by cerebellar damage.

Methods : The subject was a 36 year old woman; a patient who got quadriplegia by hemorrhages in the cerebellum on January 6th, 2015. A training on exercise image was carried out for 6 weeks (for 2 days a week) and for the before-and-after evaluation, MFT and BBT were performed as an evaluation of upper limb function and MBI was performed as an evaluation of independence of activities of daily living.

Results : After the evaluation, in the MFT, the affected side was enhanced by 1 point, and in the BBT. the affected side was enhanced from 24 to 30 of them. However, there was no change in the MBI.

Conclusion: The significance of this study is that it proposes an example of exercise image treatment for patients with cerebellar damage
